After years of providing Church signs for all types of denominations, both traditional marquee signs and LED signs, I came to a realization that God has been working through our company and our employees to help spread His Word. The Bible teaches us that we are to go forth and be witness to the world for Christ.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Using Church Signs as a Witness
Being a witness and spreading the gospel includes not only what you say, but also what you do. To say it another way, one is a word witness, and the other is a life witness.
It was the end of a long the week! You know the type. And as we were gathered together in my business partner’s office, one of our graphic artist, Taylor Hauhio, showed us installation photos of a sign we recently manufactured and shipped to Living Water Baptist Church in Sardis, OH. She told us how excited the congregation was to receive their new LED Church sign.
The discussion then moved to how many of our clients are churches and how awesome it is when we receive photos after the sign is installed. I said something to Taylor and my partner that was more of an observation than an explanation.
I said, “We are Gods instrument, and He uses our abilities to provide Church signs to these Churches and thus help them witness and spread His word. We are doing God’s work here!”
The words rolled off my tongue naturally, like something each one of us knew, but no one ever said.
Most of the folks who work at Sign-Express are professing Christians. We love designing and manufacturing signs for all our customers, but especially churches. My partner, whose father is a pastor, wife is a childrens minister and is himself a worship leader at his church, smiled and quickly agreed.
It felt really good to relish in that idea! To think, the career I chose, or better stated chose me, has benefited thousands of Churches nationwide. By helping God’s people install a new Church sign on their property, which not only identifies who they are but, as a result of modern technology, helps spread His Word — the Word which the Prophet Isaiah said, “shall not return unto me void” is a joyful thought.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
